AWP: Process

Anatomy of a Web Project

1) Design Phase:
The design phase includes Information Gathering, wherein the team gains an understanding of the purpose of the Web site and its target audience. This is where we discuss the goals of the site, and the design style you are interested in. Looking at your "competitors" sites is helpful. If your a musician, we'll also listen to your music.

The design phase often requires a long phone call, which we schedule as soon as all of your assets are received and a deposit is taken.

Typical turnaround: 1-2 weeks

2) Site Development:
In this phase we produce the web pages, graphics and style sheets that make up the site. This includes all technical aspects of the site, such as HTML coding as well as content and widget integration. There may be little required of the you during this period.
Upon the completion of Site Development, a beta site will be delivered for review where omissions and tweaks can be addressed.

Typical turnaround between approval of design phase and delivery of beta site for review: approximately 2 weeks.

3) Delivery:
The final phase includes Installation and Quality Assurance, wherein the site is installed on the server and all features are tested on a variety of environments. (Internet Explorer 7.0/PC, Firefox 3.0/Mac-PC, Safari 3.0/Mac).
